Some users report delays in syncing from Samsung Health to Health Connect. This appears to be a known issue on Samsung's end.
Health Connect is a central hub for managing health data across apps on Android. GoChallenge takes the data from Samsung Health. To sync Steps and Distance from Samsung Health, follow the steps below and optimise it as the priority data source.
Step 1: Install and enable Health Connect
Open Google Play Store and download Health Connect by Android (if not preinstalled).
Open Health Connect and complete the initial setup.
Step 2: Grant permissions for Samsung Health
Open Samsung Health.
Tap the three-dot menu (โฎ) > Settings.
Scroll down and select Data Permissions.
Locate Health Connect and toggle it ON.
Grant access to Steps and Distance.
Step 3: Manage data access in Health Connect
Open Health Connect.
Tap App permissions.
Select Samsung Health and confirm that Steps and Distance are allowed.
Tap Manage data > Data sources and priority.
Drag Samsung Health to the top. In addition, you could remove other apps to make sure Samsung Health is the only source of steps and distance data.
Step 4: Verify syncing
Open Health Connect and navigate to Data.
Check if recent Steps and Distance are updating correctly from Samsung Health.
If data isn't updating, try the following:
Restart your device.
Ensure Samsung Health has background activity enabled.
Clear Health Connect cache: Settings > Apps > Health Connect > Storage > Clear Cache.
Troubleshooting tips
If Samsung Health is not appearing in Health Connect, ensure both apps are fully updated.
Check if other apps (Google Fit, Fitbit, etc.) are overriding Samsung Health as the primary source in Manage Priorities.
Reinstall both apps if syncing issues persist.
