How to connect to Apple Health

A guide on syncing Apple Health with GoChallenge.

Updated over 3 months ago

To seamlessly integrate your iPhone's health data with GoChallenge, follow these steps to connect Apple Health within the GoChallenge app:

  1. Open the GoChallenge app: Launch the GoChallenge app on your iPhone.

  2. Log in and start onboarding: Follow the onscreen steps.

  3. Connect to Apple Health: Select Apple Health when prompted during the onboarding set up.

  4. Grant permissions: A prompt will appear requesting access to your health data. Ensure you enable permissions for Steps and Distance to allow GoChallenge to sync this information. GoChallenge needs both of these to work correctly.

Compatible fitness trackers with Apple Health

Apple Health integrates with a variety of fitness trackers and apps, enabling a comprehensive health monitoring experience. Some popular compatible devices include:

  • Apple Watch Series: Seamlessly syncs all health metrics with Apple Health.

  • Garmin Wearables: Devices such as the Garmin Venu 3 offer integration via compatible apps.

  • WHOOP Strap 4.0: Provides detailed analytics that can be shared with Apple Health.

  • Oura Ring: Monitors sleep and activity metrics, syncing effortlessly with Apple Health.

Please note that while many devices are compatible, some may require additional apps or steps to sync data with Apple Health. It's advisable to consult the user manual or support resources of your specific device for detailed instructions.

Troubleshooting: Missing Steps or Distance Data

If you’re not seeing Steps or Distance data appear in your GoChallenge app, it usually means permissions haven’t been fully enabled on your iPhone. To fix this, check your iPhone’s Health settings:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.

  2. Scroll down and tap Apps > Health.

  3. Select Data Access & Devices.

  4. Choose GoChallenge from the list of apps.

  5. Make sure the toggles for Steps and Walking + Running Distance are turned ON.

Once these are enabled, GoChallenge will be able to sync your Apple Health data correctly. Once done, it may help to swipe down in the GoChallenge app to refresh your data.
