Syncing Samsung Health with GoChallenge

Learn how to connect your Samsung Health app directly to the GoChallenge app

GoChallenge now connects directly to Samsung Health — no need for Google Fit or Health Connect. All you need is the Samsung Health app installed on your Android phone.

1. What you need before you begin

  • The Samsung Health app installed on your phone

  • The GoChallenge app installed on your phone

  • An active GoChallenge account

2. Connect Samsung Health to GoChallenge

  1. Open the GoChallenge app on your phone.

  2. Log in, and when prompted, select Samsung Health from the list of trackers.

  3. You’ll be redirected to the native Samsung Health data permission screen.

  4. Toggle All permissions to ON (or manually enable the individual data switches).

  5. Tap Done at the bottom of the screen to authorise the link.

Important: Make sure you allow Steps and Exercise data — both are essential for GoChallenge to track your activity correctly.

3. Confirm Your Samsung Health Connection

Once permissions are granted:

  • You’ll return to the GoChallenge app.

  • Samsung Health should now appear as your active tracker.

  • Your steps and distance will sync automatically.

  • Samsung Health syncing: Samsung Health sends data back to GoChallenge every 15 minutes. If your activity isn't showing in the GoChallenge app, this might be why.

4. Need to Troubleshoot?

If your Samsung Health data isn’t appearing in GoChallenge:

  • Open Samsung Health and swipe down on the main dashboard screen to trigger a fresh sync.

  • In GoChallenge, swipe down on the home screen to refresh.

  • Double-check that Samsung Health is listed as your active tracker (there's a notification at the bottom of the GoChallenge homescreen).

  • Verify app permissions inside Samsung Health: Open Samsung Health > tap More options (the three vertical dots) > Settings > Apps > GoChallenge, and verify that all read/write data switches are enabled.

  • If needed, disconnect Samsung Health from GoChallenge and reconnect. Go to Settings > Manage Tracker > Samsung Health > Disconnect Tracker.
